چکیده
Superficial granulomatous pyoderma (SGP) or pyoderma vegetans is a rare inflammatory disease first described by Wilson-Jones and Winkelmann in 1988. Although considered a superficial, vegetative variant of pyoderma gangrenosum (PG), SGP has distinguishing features such as a chronic and slowly progressive course, lack of association with other diseases, shallower ulcers, the presence on histology of characteristic 3-layered granulomas, and better response to treatment (Table 1). We present 2 cases of SGP that were successfully treated with topical tacrolimus, with no recurrence after 5 years.

[Superficial granulomatous pyoderma: report of a case of an uncommon variant of pyoderma gangrenosum].
Pyoderma gangrenosum is a rare idiopathic skin disease. It affects mainly adults, and only 4% of the cases are diagnosed on children and adolescents. There are four clinical forms of pyoderma gangrenosum: ulcerative, pustular, bullous, and vegetative (superficial granulomatous pyoderma). Superficial granulomatous pyoderma is considered the most benign and uncommon form of the disease. Patients ...

متن کاملSuperficial Granulomatous Pyoderma of the Face: A Case Report and Review of the Literature
INTRODUCTION Superficial granulomatous pyoderma (SGP) is a rare variant of pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) and differs from classic PG in its indolent clinical course, lack of associated underlying disease, the finding of a granulomatous infiltrate on histology, and better prognosis with less-aggressive therapies. METHODS We report on a case of SGP involving the face following local reexcision of a...

Pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) is an idiopathic, ulcerative, inflammatory dermatologic condition that occurs in patients with systemic diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). This inflammatory skin disorder is presumably caused by an autoimmune mechanism and the diagnosis is one of exclusion. PG is not a common condition but it is thought to account for approximately 50% of chronic paras...
